OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, is rolling out ChatGPT Work. It is a work mode where the AI assistant can gather information from apps and files, divide a goal into smaller steps and work on it for a longer time than in a regular chat.

The feature can create, for example, documents, spreadsheets, presentations and simpler web apps. It can also use connected services and scheduled tasks. What information it reaches depends on which tools the user or organization has connected and which permissions have been granted.

OpenAI describes customer examples where jobs that previously took days or weeks went faster. These are the company's and customers' own examples, not independent evidence that each workflow yields the same time gain or quality.

On web and mobile, ChatGPT Work is first rolled out to Pro, Enterprise and Edu, followed by Plus and Business. The new desktop app for Mac and Windows is available globally and includes Chat, Work and Codex on all subscriptions, including Free. More demanding work may use more of the subscription's included limit.

Därför spelar det roll

For Swedish businesses, this AI moves from single text suggestions to end-to-end workflows. It can reduce manual work, but at the same time increases the need for clear authorizations, control points and responsibility for the end result. Whoever connects e-mail, customer data or internal files first needs to decide what the AI can read and which actions always require human approval.

Det här kan du göra

  1. Start with a well-known and defined workflow without sensitive personal or customer data.
  2. Ask for a work plan and decide which steps require your approval before sending, changing or publishing anything.
  3. Check sources, figures, authorizations and final results against the original documents.
