OpenAI rolls out GPT-Live as the new basis for the voice mode in ChatGPT. The model can listen and speak at the same time and is built to handle natural interruptions and pauses.

It can make voice-controlled AI more useful when your hands are busy or when you want to reason out loud. However, a more natural conversation does not mean that the answers will automatically be more correct.

The rollout is gradual and the experience may differ between accounts and platforms. The quality also varies between languages, which can affect pronunciation and fluency in English.
