Anthropic, the company behind the AI assistant Claude, has released the Claude Opus 5. The model is built for demanding code work, analysis and other tasks where the AI needs to work in several steps and check its result.
Opus 5 is available in Claude for Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. It is the new standard model in Max and the strongest model included in Pro. Anthropic does not state that the model is included in the free plan.
Developers can use the model via the Claude API named claude-opus-5. The price is $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens. A faster mode costs twice as much and according to the Anthropic model runs about 2.5 times faster.
Anthropic lifts its own tests where Opus 5 improves coding, computing and knowledge work. The company also publishes testimonials from early customers. The results show how the provider has tested the model, but are not independent proof that it always gives better or safer answers.
The model has special blocks for certain cyber tasks. Anthropic writes at the same time that Opus 5 can still make mistakes and that it has important limitations in long-term independent work. A higher model level therefore does not remove the need for clear authorizations, source control and human responsibility.
For Swedish users, the practical change is mainly a new model choice in the payment plans. Before switching, a team should compare the quality, response time and cost of its own recurring tasks rather than relying on the vendor benchmarks.
Därför spelar det roll
A more capable premium model can help with more difficult code, analysis, and document work, but it can also increase cost and allow more leeway in connected tools. Swedish businesses therefore need to test the usefulness of their own data and maintain human control over important decisions.
Det här kan du göra
- Choose two recurring tasks and compare Opus 5 with the model you use today.
- Measure quality, response time and actual token cost in the same test.
- Maintain source control and manual approval for actions affecting customers, data or production.
